‘Brown Turkey’
Ficus
Along with 'Chicago Hardy' , 'Brown Turkey' is one of the hardiest edible fig varieties, producing crops of sweet, luscious brownish-purple figs in early autumn - and twice a year in milder climates. ‘Brown Turkey’ fig is very vigorous and easy to grow, though best sited in protected areas in the colder end of its hardiness range. This Ficus carica is tolerant of drought, heat, and deer.
‘Chicago Hardy’
Ficus
A hardy edible fig! 'Chicago Hardy' is one of the most cold-resistant figs on the market. Though it may die back to the ground in the colder ends of its range, it resprouts from the roots and will still bear sweet edible figs in autumn. Can grow in warmer parts of USDA zone 5 in protected sites; it should be mulched well in these areas for best results.
